Some good tips

From the table of Br Yasir Butt

1-Dematerialize from the people by the command of Allah, and from your desires by His order, and from your will by His action, so that you may become fit to be the vessel of the knowledge of Allah. 2-Now, the sign of your dematerialization from the people is that you should be completely spiritually disconnected from them and from all (material expectations) from them and make your mind/heart free from all expectations of what is in their control as far as material benefit, power and influence. 3-And the sign of your dematerialization from your desires is that you should discard all mental regard (while using these means due to necessity) for the worldly means in acquiring any benefit and avoiding any harm; and you should not be spiritually moved by yourself in your own interest and not rely on yourself in your mind/heart on matters concerning yourself and not worry about protecting yourself nor helping yourself, but leave the whole thing entirely to Allah; because He had the charge of all of it in the beginning (when you were in the womb) and so will He have it till the end, 4-just as the charge rested on Him when you were hidden in the womb (of your mother) as also when you were being suckled as a baby in the cradle.

(The above was sent to us a while back.  We were going through some old emails and we spotted it.  Sorry for the delay!)
