Q. As Salaamu Alaikum,
I should have gotten a full period on WED.I have gone 32 days without a period and I usally have period every 25-28 days. Instead I spotted very lightly from WED to Friday. Sat. no spotting. The spotting was not enough to come down, or night and day. I am not sure that it is not an early pregnacy as I have never missed a period without having a pregnancy. I did not fast or pray when I had the spotting, should I make the prayers up? Should I be fasting now as I have missed my period and could have a pregnancy. I am not sure though. I have low back pain and have had headaches since WED… ?
Jazakallahu Khyran
A.
Wa ‘Alaykum Salaam,
Please seek immediate medical attention! Lower back pain and intermittent spotting could be indicators for miscarriage. If there is a possibility that you may be pregnant (i.e. if you’ve engaged in adult relations in the recent past), then it is imperative for you to check out this possibility. If there is no possibility of pregnancy, you should still seek medical care–headaches and back pain since the spotting would indicate that there is something amiss.
We will update with the fiqh responsibility re: fasting/praying, but RIGHT NOW, you need medical attention.
Fi amaniLlah.
