Q: I am from the UK. When I went for umrah my father gave me 500 euros to distribute to the poor. My father did not specify locality of distribution.  By sheer error I used up the money on myself.  I remembered my error when I was doing my tour in Jordan. So I withdrew 500 and looked for poor people and immediately distributed the money. Alhadulillah.  My conscious is disturbing me. Do I have to give the money in soudi Arabia.

A: The money was an amaanah. You violated that trust, for that you need to make istigfaar.

Your duty had been discharged when you gave the poor the money in Jordan.
