Before you work hard in Ramadhan

Sometimes we have an inert tendency to think that we are superior to our fellow Muslims and Humans.

Q: Why does it matter?

A: The Rasool SAW said in Sahih Muslim “Any one who has a speck of Takabur (Arrogance) in his heart he will not enter Jannah (Paradise)”

Q: What constitutes Arrogance?

A: An individual thinking that I am better than my brother because I follow a certain fiqh, a certain dawah methodology, a certain scholars from a certain country etc.  A certain outlook in deen or in dunya as far as status that may lead to what the Rasool saw described as

??? ???? ? ??? ?????

“disdain for truth and contempt for People”

Q: What is Allah’s Promise regarding the Arrogant People?

A: In Surah Al-Araaf verse 146

?????????? ???? ??????????? ????????? ?????????????? ??? ?????????

I shall turn away from My Ayât (verses of the Qur’ân) those who behave arrogantly on the earth

No wonder we stand all night in taraweeh and nothing benefits us in terms of changing ourlives towards good.

Q: What if a person thinks that he alone is saved everyone is ruined?

A: in Shaih Muslim

?????? ????? ?????????? ?????? ??????? ?????? ?????: ????? ??????? ??????? ??? ???? ???? ?????: «???? ?????????? ????????? ???????: ?????? ???????? ?????? ????????????». ???? ???? ????? ???? ????.

“If you hear a man say: People are ruined than he is the most ruined of All”

Sometimes the people who are steadfast in deen are more vulnerable to this attitude than the people who have lavish status.  So if you follow the sunnah or you wear the Hiajb do not think that you are saved and everyone is ruined.  May be Allah will forgive others their tress passes and ruin all your worship!

Q: What did the Tabeen say about this?

A: Hasan al-Basri says in Imam Mundhri’s Targhib and Tarhib

“The people who ridicule or show contempt towards others in dunya will be shown an open door of paradise on the day of judgement and it will be said: come on enetr! The individual suffering from sadness and exhaustion will proceed and the door will be shut on him.  Then another door! Then another Door! Till finally the Door will be left open and the individual will be called and he will not proceed due to his loss of hope due to the repetitive humiliating treatment he just received”

Q: Any final words of Wisdom?

A: Abdullah ibn Mubarak says”if you wear a garment (Suit) due to which you think  you have become better than anyone else than that is the worse garment (Suit) you have adorned”

Muslim bin Yassar (the student of Ibn Omar and Abu Hurraira the great egyptian Tabee) said

“it is enough evil for an individual to think that he is better than his brother”

Finally Things to Ponder

All our hard work in Ramadhan or our lives can be ruined just because of an instant of Arrogance!

If you are not religious do not belittle religious people in your thoughts lest you be ruined in this economy!

If you are a good Muslim do not get arrogant this goodness can be taken away in an instant of Fitnah!

If you are a born Muslim don’t get Arrogant all the Sahaba were converts!

If you give dawah and spend time traveling for it don’t get arrogant because it is due to our incomplete efforts that even Muslims are away from Deen!

If you are knowledgable don’t be arrogant Satan was a Scholar too, what did his knowledge benefit him!

If you are a Native don’t belittle refugees we are all refugees to Allah!

The Bottom Line is

???? ????

“Myself, Myself only no one else”

Allah knows Best
