Q: IS procrastination the work of shaytan? Jazakallah

A: Muslims are encouraged to be productive and use their time wisely. Allah (SWT) states: ;Seize the opportunity for doing good, and do not let the devil repel you’ (4:71). The hadith also makes mention of the importance of being productive and using time wisely. Rasool (SAW) said: The feet of a person shall not move on the Day of Judgment until we are asked about four things: How we spent our life, how we earned and spent ourwealth,  how we spent our youth, and what did we do with the knolwedge given to us.(Sahih Bukhari). Reflecting on this Hadith will minimise the time we spent procrastinating on tasks that can help us understand what is expected of us, InshaAllah.

Procrastination is generally seen as a negative behavior that can lead to wasted time and missed opportunities. It is important to balance the need to be productive with the importance of rest and relaxation, and to find a healthy balance between work and leisure. This is from the sunnah of our religion.

Allah Certainly Knows Best.
