A: Many woman have come to assume that merely because they are pregnant they must a) not fast and/or b) give fidya. This is incorrect.

• If you can fast, you must do so.
• If you cannot fast due to health reasons, you would do a makeup.
• If you cannot do a makeup, then only you would need to give fidya.
• Fidya for 2014 is $8 dollars per missed fast.
