Q: i am 17 years old.  i got married in a family arrange marriage. i got married 3 weeks ago. I know that my parents will choose the best person for me. Allah subhana who wataAlaa would not disappoint me. I did once date a boy in school for 6 months and did my tawba. i think i am now suffering because of that. What happened was when i got married i did not know my husband who is my family does drugs and has many girl friends that also does sex with. i am living in usa he overseas. I know this because when we were together he kept going onto Facebook.  I don’t have FB.  My friends at school found him on it and both my brothers to know about this.  my aunt is also my mother-in-law. she  put pressure on my husband her son to make sure i get pregnant and so now i am pregnant. he is with other girls and drugs and waiting for usa citizenship.  In Islam if my husband is a druggie and a womanizer and mentally not the most mature. can i terminate my pregnancy and wait until things get better inshaAllah? Please help me. Salams

A: I am sorry to hear that your spouse remains irresponsible. In Islam, as you are aware, birth control in itself is not forbidden. However, terminating a pregnancy as in the condition prescribed by you would be forbidden.  I suggest you try to talk to your husband about making better life-choices.  Additionally, go and seek help together from a person you both trust.

I wish you well, Ameen.

Allah Certainly Knows Best.
