Q: my mother passed away a year ago june 13th 2011. My daughter wants to get married june 23rd 2012. Is it ok to get married so close to the date my mother passed away.
A: Your mother passing away and your daughter getting married are in no way linked. They are separate issues. Likewise, grieving the passing away of a person should not restrict a grandchild from happiness. We do mourn; however, mourning must not deprive us or exceed the parameters of mourning or religion.
