Q: Assalamu alikum wa rahmatullah ya Imam,

May The Almighty increase your knowledge (Ameen. Rest of this line has been omitted, does not pertain to the masses.)
Imam, I am a busy female college student. I have been suffering this type of strange disorder for more than 13 months, every time I go to the bathroom, I find liquids in my internal clothes. The amount of liquids vary, and the color is in the range from yellow to white. The point is, there’s always enough liquid that requires me to make up my Wudu. The disorder gets irritating when I am in school and between my classes, it is very hard for me to change my internal clothes and wash them at school. I get upset and tried of it because it makes me miss my prayers. I pray late, I am always late to Jama’a prayer, and the worst part is, sometimes I can feel the liquids coming out while I AM PRAYING. This is an every two hours disorder, and it gets worse, because I am leaning how to regale and taste the sweetness of the prayer, so the disorder is involved in ruining the prayer for me.
My questions are; do  I have to always (even when the prayer time is leaving) change my internal clothes and wash them and then take wudu(this part takes at least 15 mins) even in school? Do I need to take the Ghusul like I do it from ????? Al-Hayd? And what do I do when I can feel the liquids coming down while I am praying? I pray slowly 🙁

Jazakum Allah Khair.

We appreciate your question and we pray that Allah (SWT) makes matters easy for you.

If the fluid discharge is not part of your menstrual cycle nor does it fall in to the category of menses (haidh) then in such a situation it would be viewed as istihadha.

In the case of istihada, you would be required to make fresh whudu each time. Your matters would not be complicated in that, for each salah make a fresh whudu and perform your salah. Merely use something that would absorb the fluids that are secreted to prevent the impurity from coming upon your clothing.

  • thus, you would not need to change your clothing with each salah, just the fabric (liner/padding) that has the stain from impurity on it.
  • In the case of haidh you would need a ghusal, in the case of istihada you would not need a ghusal, just fresh whudhu for each prayer.
  • You need not worry about Jummah. Jummah salah is not binding upon woman as it is upon men. This should not be your concern.

Allah certainly Knows Best
