Q: Tampon: haram? Halal? (Email)

A: Ahnaf do not recommend placing objects into the vagina when substitutes exist. It is makrrohe-tahrimi (an extremely disliked action) to insert anything into the vagina in the likes of a tampon.

Single woman/unmarried woman should by all means refrain from the usage of tampons.

It is not haram. When a substitute exits, it is better to use its substitute instead.

p.s. I frown people wanting answers such as haram and halal. Islam is not so simplistic. Nor is it so black and white.
