I was wondering if the sunnah beard is obligated on a man. Though being sunnah many say it is fardh. People tell me I can’t shave it nor trim it

Wajib.

For those that wish to eliminate the wajib category, they too claim it is a sunnah. Sunnah comprises of multiple levels. Beard keeping remains as part of the higher echelon on the category of sunnah. The claim that many have made: its just a sunnah shows ignorance relating to the multiple categories of sunnah. Persons saying: its just a sunnah are in reality showing ignorance to self as well as the depth and breath towards this matter.

p.s. Not keeping a beard does not require demeaning its religious function. Demeaning an aspect of religion only contributes to demeaning oneself.
