Q. is witr necessary to make qadha off? I was told not to make it up for there is no make for it. (Text Message)

A.  Jamhoor: Imaams Shafee, malik and hambal say that make up is not wajib

Imaam Abu Hanefa states that make up for witt is necessary.

When two options exist, it is best to follow the one that has more precaution attributed towards it. If you are a hanafee, then you would certainly do a makeup for witr.

If you are of the other mazahabs, the choice would be yours, since you are not bound by a makeup.
