Q. asalamulaikom
this question reminds me.. can a person have (see) Allah (swt) in their dream. I was told “no” a few years ago and was told that it’s shaytan that comes in that form. But how is that possible? What about prophet (pbuh) can he come to our dream in another person’s form (someone we know)? since shaytan cannot come in his(pbuh) form?
A. No person has ever seen Allah (Subhanahu Wata’Ala). It is possible for people to see the Noor of Allah. Shaytan cannot come in the ‘form’ of Allah (Subhanahu Wata’Ala) for Allah does not have a physical form.
As for seeing Rasulullah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) in the dream, one can see him (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) if they are blessed. As you have noted, shaytan cannot resemble Rasulullah(sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) (Hadith). Rasulullah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) would be seen in his (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) genuine form, not in the form of another person. Shaytan can come in the dream of ordinary people (not our Prophet) and act as a pious person to deceive an individual — one must not be fooled with such fake piety.
Seeing Rasulullah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) does not mean that we would all see him (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) in the same manner and precision. Our seeing him (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam )is relational to our Imaan. The stronger our Imaan and love for him (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) coupled with good deeds, the more clear our vision would be of him (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam).
Allah Certainly Knows Best.
