Q: What is pubic hair? What do i cut off? Does one need to cut it off? (email)
A: The hair that is part of the navel must be cut of. The under-hair arm must also be trimmed or securely shaved.
Sayyidina Abu Huraira reports that Rasulullah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) said that certain things are part of human nature and done naturally by humans:
‘Five practices are characteristics of the Fitra (human nature): circumcision (for boys), shaving the pubic hair, cutting the mustaches short, clipping the nails, and plucking the hair of the armpits(or one can shave or trim it short, should a male or female not wish to pluck it).’

Cordial note: these hairs must be cut prior to it growing beyond the size of a rice grain. Letting it grow beyond a rice grain affects salah, Imaan, etc. Schedule a hygiene day — a day you fix to clean yourself to look good for your Creator and your family. We are humans, and a human look is what Islam prefers.
Allah Certainly Knows Best.
