Q. Is it bad to listen to the Qur’an while studying to enhance one’s ability to focus (on a school related subject)?

An ideal situation would call for one to listen and be focused upon the recitation of the Quran. The words are of Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) and one must give full attention towards it, as the Quran commands us.

If the option is between listening to music as opposed to the Quran, in such a situation, the Quran should be given preference.

Should listening be the only option for you to enhance your concentration in studying that which would benefit Islam and Muslims , then doing so would also not constitute a sin.
