MSA crisis (suspicion) resolved!

Assalaamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullaahi Wabarakatuhu-

We sincerely apologize and take full responsibility for the many who chose to meddle into the lives of the innocent, especially from our immature assumptions. Wrong people have been accused. It has been established that the question-senders are a couple that attend Islamic Society of Greater Salt Lake for their personal matters. Sadly, Shaytan has allowed us to segregate from our core values and blame wrong person (s). Continue Reading →

doubt alone does not override certainty

Q: What if you prayed salah and after had doubt whether you had wudhu or not, do u repeat the salah? (text)

A: If you remember being in the state of whudu and do not remember anything breaking it, then your salah would remain valid.

The principle (usool) that facilitates this ruling is the following: doubt alone does not override certainty.

Allah Certainly Knows Best.

i want to be a saint! (Then let go of the devil *in you*)

Q:

Salam,

I was wondering how does one become a TRUE wali of Allah like those people of the past? People wish to be modern today but I don’t believe in a modern Islam. Allah has not become modern nor has Islam nor has the sunnah of our beloved Rasul (saw) it is the same as it was 1400 yrs ago and my goal is to be like those people of the past. By people of the past I mean, Islamic scholars that did a great deal for their environment and talked about day and night, simple people who were so close to Allah that in today’s time they would (only because of their relationship with Allah) make muslim in today’s time look like very very misguided people?  What steps would one take to achieve this status in the eyes of Allah? and how would one know they are getting closer to Allah? Please give some advice and also some history of pious persons of Islam and how they achieved such closeness with Allah.

how can i NOT be lazy!

Q:
Asalamu Alaykum,

1) (And if they stand for prayer, they do so lazily to be seen of men and they do not remember Allah except a little.) (An-Nisaa’ 4:142)

How can one avoid that?
2) how can we keep our intention consistent when at times feels wishy-washy?
I’m sorry if my question doesn’t make sense.

In attempt of answering or taking into consideration thanks, may Allah subhana’wa ta’ala reward you, ameen

jinny (not) in a bottle

Q:

Asalamualaikum,

first question is that

I had a dream approximately 1 or 2 hours after fajr salah.  in my dream i saw a jinn trying to over power (keep me from getting up) me while i lay on the floor on my bed.  I repeatedly tried to get up but it was as if the jinn was very very strong and trying to prevent me from getting to my feet.  while the jinn attempted to keep me down I was getting extremely angry that the jinn was trying to hold me down and kept repeating ALLAH ALLAH ALLAH ALLAH ALLAH over and over again and tried to get to my feet and had in my mind in the dream that when i got to my feet that I would fight and pummel this jinn.  I did manage to get semi up and kept saying ALLAH ALLAH ALLAH. I soon woke up and the dream was finished.
please answer as thoroughly as possible as I do have many dreams where I fight a jinn in different scenarios this being the first of that which i have submitted for an explanation.
