Missed Prayers — makeup or not

Question 1:

For Qadha prayers, I started to make up Qadha prayers which I missed in early part of my life either b/c of my laziness or b/c there was no arrangement in my school to go for prayers during prayer times. I came along this website and now I am confused b/c they say in summary that Qadha prayer is if someone forgets or had a valid excuse or fell asleep during the prayer time – if someone does not pray due to laziness – then it is a great sin and there is no Qadha prayer?? please explain

sheep in dream

Q: I had a dream that i was dividing meat (goat or sheep)  in three equal parts. Please could you advise me of the meaning of this? Is this a good or bad dream,, as i did not feel this was good nor bad when i had woke up.

Thanks

A: If you had sacrificed this sheep for purposes other than its meat, then this deram is indicative of you gaining control of another person that  is more powerful then you.

If this sacrifice was part of the Qurbani within your dream, then it could refer to you gaining better health, release from subjugation of others, greater wealth, etc.

Your dream has elements of positivity. I would not worry too much about it.

Feeling after a dream is not always indicative of positivity or negativity.

both are good — do that which keeps you healthy

Q: Assalamu alaikum-

I enjoy fasting so I would really like to know which of the two types of fasting holds more reward with Allah, the Merciful:  Fasting every Monday and Thursdays as our Prophet, Salalahu alaihi wasalam, fasted or fasting every other day as Prophet Dawood, may peace and blessing be upon, fasted?  Jazakallahu Khair.

A: ?????? ?????? ????? ???? ???????

Intent in this case would take you a long way

Both these fasts are rewarding. The one linked to Rasulullah (SAW) would gain profoundly more reward if one kept it with the intent that they are attempting to resemble the actions of Rasulullah (SAW) based on sunnah.

The reward gained as a result of fasting the ‘fast of Dawood (AS)’ with the intent that Rasulullah (SAW) praised such a fast would also be meritorious. For one aspect of sunnah deals with Rasulullah (SAW’s) praise of a given action. Continue Reading →

what is karamah?

Q: what is karamah?(text)

A: Karamah is an arabic word that refers to the performing of miracles. Karamah are miracles that are performed by saints. One should not depend on the miracles of saints as an indicating factor of their piety. However, Allah (swt) has given certain people the ability to perform miracles. So long as these miracles are performed without words of kufr, without taking control of jinn, ascribing partners with Allah (SWT) then it would be fine. We must not give people their rank on the miracles they perform.

We should value those that adhere to the basic fard and sunnah in all their matters. This to me is a greater miracle.

Imaam nawawi makes mention of miracles under the chapter of: the miracles of the friends of Allah are genuine.

stray hairs and the beard

Q: Does one trim stray hairs of the beard?

A: Once the required length is acquired, the excess length hair can be shaped/groomed.

Allah Certainly Knows Best.

Added note: If one is growing out his beard and the employer pressures him to grow it out in an even (length like) manner; the pressured individual needs the employment as part of survival, then the trimming of that which is less then a fist length can be done. This however is not preferred Islamic behavior. It is a matter of survival.  Any person employed by such a company must also look elsewhere for employment. One cannot work for an employer that opposes the rules of the Creator. If employment elsewhere is difficult to attain, then one must practice patience. Trimming the beard or to even it out must not be due to an excuse of keeping the beard short or goatee like, etc.
