Become a spritual super hero from subzero

Q: We live in challenging times. How does a person become spiritually resialant? How to avoid temptations?

A: Asalamualikum,
To become religiously stronger, here are few suggestions:
  • Practice realizing that your creator is Allah (SWT) He created you for a purpose. Get to know that purpose. This will help you focus on that which is most important.
  • Have a prayer schedule and try never to shift from it. Enjoy and take pleasure in your prayers. This can give you inner peace.
  • Connect with the creation with Allah( SWT). See the beauty in Allah (SWT) from the great things that Allah has created.
  • Practice being thankful for the things you have and not have.
  • Surround yourself with supportive people. Friends and loved ones who will support and encourage you on your spiritual journey. You become like that of your friends!
The Sahaba did the above and beyond. It worked for them, it can work for you and I as well, InshaAllah!

Killing is not always an option

Q: We are in a family bussines. Farming i know has challenges. Can we kill predators, wild cats and other animals that attack our animals and vegitation. Is it sinful. JAK.

A: Farming is not easy, may Allah (SWT) bless you and your family in choosing to be farmers.

People of faith look for solutions within faith based principles. There are more humane and ways to protect your animals and vegetation from predators. As a farmer, the following should be obvious, even though there may be an initial cost associated with them. As Muslim, we are to help negitive cycles, killing and destorying does not do that, any form of violance that has an alteritive only perpetuates it. Here are some simple suggestions:

  1. Physical barriers: Fences and gates to help keep predators at a distance
  2. Deterrents: There are a variety of deterrents, plants giving off scents that keep predators away, light sensors, etc.
  3. Keep animals secure: Install barns /sheds when they are not being supervised or at night

Habitat adjustment can reduce some of your concerns. If all these measures have failed, best to trap the animals as per legal regulations and dispose of them as per your city/state codes. As a person of faith, always do that which keeps your Allah (SWT) happy.

Allah Certainly Knows Best.
