you on a good mission, keep it up

Questions: Assalaam,
Question 1) I ‘m not sure whether its a good question or not; but i was wondering: what can i, as a person, do to increase my imaan? you see, in this day in age and society, we who have been born and bred in a muslim family seem to take this BIG chance for granted. I try to read my Salaah as much as i can, and yet, i cannot increase my imaan. i feel as if there is still something missing inside me, but i dont know what it could be… any advice?
Jazakallah…

Question 2) I have another question. i was talking to my friends and realised how much of hypocrite i am. i researched hypocrisy in Islam and apparently the punishment is much severe than kuffaar, as its mixing kuffaar with Islam. i have knowledge of the things that shouldnt be done, yet when i forbid it from other people i end up doing the opposite. for example, lowering the gaze. i know the punishment and what it may lead to, yet i’m there checking out the opposite gender. so my question is, how can i rid myself of this evil habit of hypocrisy? Jazakallah… again…

Question 3) Final question (sorry).
during the last year i was commiting many filthy sins such as looking at rude things and neglecting Salaah. AlhamduLillah, i have been reading As-Salaah and left the filthy habit(s). my worry is, i had a bad dream that i think i’ll end up going back to my evil ways. even though i do not want this to happen, i feel its coming true as recently i have been almost listening to songs and definitely looking at the opposite gender. now, i feel like i am fighting a battle within myself and it seems to look as if my badness is starting to prevail over my good. i’m even getting dodgy waswaas (evil whispering from shaytaan)!!. i feel like i’m losing the plot! i was just wondering can you give me advice on how i could suppress this inner evil???
Jazakallah… again 🙂

abuse is not limited as to where it comes from

Q: I was married in the Mosque in July 2008 to a man by the name of Dr XXXXX. This was an awful marriage full of verbal abuse, lies and distrust on the part of Arif. I was granted a civil divorce on March 2010 after a costly battle with him. I am a single mother and have serious health conditions. Mr XXXXXXX has caused me so much greif and harassed me to the point of despair and i wish to have the marriage disolved from him and also the Muslim religion. He refuses to help me in this matter and i believe it’s in large part due to the dowery he committed to and now refuses to pay. Please help me in this matter as i will obtain legal council, since i have made phone calls to the Mosque in the past and recieved absoutly no help. I have the utmost respect for your Mosque and your religious belief’s but after what Dr XXXXXXX has done to myself and my young  daughter i wish to distance myself from any futher involvement.

makeup (qadha) or shawal fast. What comes first?

Q: Assalamu alikum wa rahmatullah,
I hope you had a greatly blessed Eid ya sheikh.
I have to make up 5 days for Ramadan, and I want to fast the 6 days of Shawal. Am I suppose to make up the 5 Qadh’a days first and then fast the 6 days of Shawal? or can I combine both in 6 days (the Qadh’a and the 6 days of Shawal)?..would you provide me with the Shafi’e point view.
Jazaka Allahu Khairan.

A: ?????? ?????? ????? ???? ???????

Wishing you and your family likewise. Kind words are always appreciated by all. Ameen.

Two opinions exist within the shafee school.

One is that there can be a joint intention, in that you can keep the Qazdha as well as the fast of shawal simultaneously. The more accepted view as presented by Imaam Nawawi is that they be separated. This is what most shawafees have opted towards.

Thus, we recommend the following: Keep the Qadha fast first, thereafter keep the fast of Shawal.

Allah Certainly Knows Best.

For ahnaf we offer the following: if you are healthy, keep the shawal fast first, if you are not in the best of health and can fast, then fast your Qadha first, then keep the fast of shawal.

*yes, we did delay, but i am sure you would be kind to use this answer for next year inshaAllah. May Allah bless you for your patience.
