Q: Question regarding last year. Our new Imaam was nervous. heforgot to sit between the kutba for the eid. Should this salah been repeated? Or khutba? (email)

A: To intentionally not sit inbetween the two khutbas would be to oppose the sunnah. This should not be done by an Imaam on an intentional bases.

It appears that this was an error. The khutba would go through dispite it being contrary to the sunnah due to it being an error. (kindly see fatwa Alamgiri)
