Q1: If hanafee Imaam did 12 takbeers in Eid salah, would the eid salah go through?

Q2: Can a hanafee do it to appease a group that insists he do it?

A1: Yes. Best not to do so intentionally to so.

A2: As an Imaam he must have some self respect and dignity to not be a sell out to peoples petty cries. For him to do so without valid reasoning would constitute an incorrect action.
