Q:slms, I have a question, and need advise. I have a close friend and he is born muslim.he is well respected and does good,but now he has met a girl which is Christian and has a kid. the girl has now recently converted to islam, and the boy is persistent on marrying the girl. the boy family is not to happy and no consent has been given by the boys family…. my question is? is it bad for a boy to marry the girl with the kid, which the girl has now recently just converted? any advise?is the marriage halaal?

A: Walaikumsalam,

Such a marriage would be halaal.

This does not mean it would be filled with barakah, more so if the parents have a valid reason that the couple are not compatible.

If the girl is religious, fulfills all the Islamic injunctions and obligations coupled with its responsibilities, then in such a case it would be rewarding to marry such a person.
