newly married woman

Q: This is a valid question. I have sent it before and did not get an answer. Is it haram for a newly married woman to wear lingerie? (email)

A: Wearing lingerie is no different from being naked. To prance around naked is forbidden in Islam.

For a wo/man to be naked in front of her/his spouse is allowed in Islam, yet makrooh (not a preferred action.)* So long as a person is wearing such clothing between intimates to create an environment of pleasure between spouses, it would be allowed.

I prefer that if wo/man are to keep such attire in the home, it be kept is a locked or secluded area. Kids have a way of seeking out such articles; children viewing such articles would only promote sentiments of wrong in the minds of our youth.

Allah Certainly Knows Best.

*Do what you need to do, then kindly clad yourself.
