Q: I work for a company that sells chicken. The feed we give the chicken has blood in it. Can this chicken be halal? (txt)
A: Keep the live chicken for three days in your possession. Within this three day period feed it halal foods before you slaughter it. If this is impossible, eating such chicken would be halal, however, it would be in the category of eating that which is makrooh (that which is not desirable.)
Eating that which is undesirable would also have an effect on ones Imaan. It would be best to eat chicken from places that feed their animals food that chicken normally eat. To feed an animal that which it is not used to as part of its diet is zulm (oppression) to the animal, this is not good and would undoubtedly be viewed as sin.
Allah Certainly Knows Best.
