Q: Salam alaikum,

Imam, what is the most suitable way to explain to a nonmuslim that they cannot touch the pure-arabic Quran Al kareem?

Option 1: I would say the following: as a Muslim i am bound by certain set of prescriptions as it relates to the Quran, amongst them, i am not allowed to physically touch the pure Arabic script unless i am in a state of purity. Thus, if i as a Muslim cannot touch the quran whilst not being pure (away from major and minor impurity whilst being part of the faith), it is inconceivable for me to voluntarily allow you to touch it.
Option two: If a person insists upon touching the Arabic, request them to view it online. This option would be safest for a person that insists upon viewing the only Arabic version of the Quran.
Option three: Give the NonMuslim a translation copy of the Quran that has more translation than Arabic words as part of its text. This would allow for them to carry and view it while in hand. Still recommended is that they do not physically touch the Arabic out of mere religious sensitivity.
Allah Certainly Knows Best.
