A. This question shows insight to your knowledge regarding people that are involved in ‘curing’ techniques that can sometimes be shady.  May Allah(Subhanahu Wata’Ala) always bless you towards such insight, Ameen.)

No person can ever know if ‘magic’ was 100% done on themselves or anyone else, for such information is zanni (guessed, approximated). Our information would not be qatee (absolute, without breakage) like that of revelation.

However, symptoms do emerge from people that suffer from ‘magic.’ One need not have jinn to know of such details. Example: a person all of a sudden becomes extremely repulsed by a employer/spouse/parent for no apparent reason or justification, an offensive smell is sensed that no other person can ever smell, person starts to sleep 20 hours a day without any adverse health related diagnosis, the father beings to look like a cat/cloud, the fathers presence is denied, etc . To accept these symptoms as final would be incorrect. To believe it never happens is wrong. Allah (Subhanahu Wata’Ala) has given certain gifted people the ability to detect such occurrences without them having control of Jinn. And due to such person’s piety, when they make a prayer for the cure of an individual, their duaa is accepted, and sufferer is cured or a reduction in pain occurs. Other times, people can detect it; however, they suffer from its consequences, but live manageably as a result of turning in greater amount to Allah (Subhanahu Wata’Ala).

Reality:

The one curing can also be the one that harms if piety is lacking. In modern times, this is the problem many are faced with, thus we agree with you, it’s best to not deal with such people. At times, the one who medicates also harms so as to get the patient back for a cure.

Need not always suffer:

One need not let the matter just be, nor live in suffering. Suffering is wrong in Islam. One must find a way to solve wrongs, ‘for health is better than illness.’ (Hadith) It is through good health we can remember Allah (Subhanahu Wata’Ala) greatly. Thus, we must resort to cure from pious people who live their lives in accordance to Quran and sunnah. People that don’t take favors from you, but are willing to give you the necessary aid you seeking. If they do charge, it should be with a guaranteed cure for that specific illness.

Additionally, as protection from people linked to such filth, every morning one should try and recite the manzil, or at least listen to its recording. These are words from the quran. The Manzil remain as a set of words to shun the evils of shaytan and his associates.

We too agree with you, it is best to seek help from a pious person, since they are far and few, its best to leave the matter to Allah (Subhanahu Wata’Ala) with personal recitals from the Quran.
