Wasted Ramadaan

Answered by Br Yassir

Q:is there a hope for a person who wasted their Ramadan to return and do good for the last ten days of Ramadan? Can this person’s life be changed in just short time?

A:

In Sahih Bukhari Volume 4, Book 56, Number 676:

Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri:

The Prophet said, “Amongst the men of Bani Israel there was a man who had murdered ninety-nine persons. Then he set out asking (whether his repentance could be accepted or not). He came upon a monk and asked him if his repentance could be accepted. The monk replied in the negative and so the man killed him. He kept on asking till a man advised to go to such and such village. (So he left for it) but death overtook him on the way. While dying, he turned his chest towards that village (where he had hoped his repentance would be accepted), and so the angels of mercy and the angels of punishment quarrelled amongst themselves regarding him. Allah ordered the village (towards which he was going) to come closer to him, and ordered the village (whence he had come), to go far away, and then He ordered the angels to measure the distances between his body and the two villages. So he was found to be one span closer to the village (he was going to). So he was forgiven.”

The above story is a clear indication that just a mere sincere gesture is not turned down by our beloved Allah! Don’t wait shed a tear and change your life for Allah loves you for your concern!

I pray to Allah to forgive you guide you and his love be your companion from here and out. Ameen

menses, itikaf, ibadah

Assalaamu’Alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakatuh i) maam!!!

What is the best way to spend our last ten days of ramadan? I heard the prophet Muhammad(PBUH) used to do more compared to the beginning or middle of ramadan, what did he do that we could practice. (1)If the sister is in her menses can she still wake up in the middle of the night and do istaqfar and dua?-(2) will be count same as the one praying or her prayer be answered?(3) Can a sister do ite’kaf? (4)What is the best ibadah for a sister to do?

1) Yes. It would prove VERY rewarding.

2) In fact she can get more reward due to the added sacrifice and fighting her desire to sleep

3) Yes, in the inner most portion of her home. Do not walk out of this spot for no reason. Should she attain her menses, she would have to repeat that given itikaaf out of the month of Ramadaan (shami)

4) Istighfar. Add durood to it. Quran recitation is also a superior form of Ibadah. Refraining from all wrongs is also greatly rewarding

I pay or you pay?

Q. Asalamualaikom

Hope you are doing well inshallah…

If I give a loan to a friend am i supposed to pay the zakat for that amount of money even though it is not in my possession?

Jazakallah Khairan

Wishing you and your family the very same.

SInce you started of with an ‘if’ in your question, we are to give you an answer and a suggestion releating to caution. Kindly do not be offended.

  • At the time of the transaction, it must be discussed as to who is to pay the zakaat on that specified wealth
  • If this is not discussed, then in reality, you not only continue to remain the rightful owner,  you would likewise be obligated to pay its zakat
  • (caution: sometimes its best to give the laon money to the one it is loaned to, for in our experience, we have noticed that the party taking the loan may not only fail to pay it, but you remain the person paying the zakat for that wealth throughout the lifespan of that loan)
  • For those that already gave a loan out to a fried, etc. it is not too late for you to renegotiate with the person you have given the loan to regarding the aspect of who is to pay the zakat on it. Should they decline, you would continue to remain liable for its zakat.

shawal fast (sunnah)

Q:

Assalam Alaikum

Hope this message is reached with good health and iman inshallah.  I had a question concerning the 6 optional fasts in Shawwal.  (1)First of all, when are we suppose to fast it? (2) Do we wait until one day after Eid or after 3 days? (3) Should these fasts be made consecutively in the month?  (4) Secondly, if a woman needs to make up her obligatory fasts which she missed during Ramadan due to her menses, can she fast the 6 days of Shawwal? Or must she first make her obligatory fasts before she does the optional fasts? Continue Reading →

for sisters who don’t get married or wish to get married, who serves as a mahram for them

Q. Assalamu Aalikum,

For sisters 1) who do not get married or 2) wish to get married, who serves as a mahram for them?

Time: Monday July 13, 2009 at 8:21 pm

Answer: ?????? ?????? ????? ???? ???????

A person not getting married (1) and not wishing to get married (2) are both separate issues.

In the first case, their fathers, uncles, brothers and other close responsible guardian-types would assist in making marriage a reality for them. In an Islamically bound country, the religious leaders and religious organizations would assist in an undertaking towards these women and their needs.

A person not wanting to get married without a valid reason is going against the Hadith which states:  any person not inclined to my Sunnah (in this case marriage without a valid reason) is not part of me (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).

For valid reasons one can decline a proposal. Valid reasons would include incompatibility, lineage releated isues, lack of attraction, religious ineptness, etc.

Answer: (
to both your dreams)

?????? ?????? ????? ???? ???????

You will acquire goodness in matters of Deen. You will overcome challenges despite difficulties. Your Imaan would be saved as you continue on the tracks of religion with sincerity. You have much good to offer, so don’t hold back with sharing its goodness. Your dream has lots of blessedness in it, may Allah (Subhanu Wata ’Ala) continue to bless you.

We too ask you for prayers (dua’s)
