Q: Salaam walikum,

When non-sharia (compliant) is being said, is that equivilent to haram, or is it in the middle between halal and haram? Meaning that it is not halal nor haram.

Depending on the context, the meaning of the phrase, ‘nonsharia compliant’ could mean any or more of the following: haram, best to be abstained from, makruh with its multiple gradations, etc. This phrase implies, the action in question should be avoided and that this given action remains frowned upon and abstaining from it would enrich your Imaan.

Being an English term makes it greatly ambiguous.
