Dear Readers/Commenters of Islam In Action Q/A site,
Assalaamu’Alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh, and Ramdaan Mubarak, Ramadan Kareem, and Happy Ramadan,
The Muslim youth of Salt Lake City had requested that we create a discussion forum, and we are pleased to announce that the forum, Shabab 4 Sawab, has been officially launched. We hope that this forum becomes a place for learning from each other about matters of Islamic importance. We also hope that the discussions that take place inspire and motivate all members to commit to the Sirat al Mustaqeem (the straight path) and implement the Sunnah of our Nabi Kareem Muhammed Sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam in all aspects of this worldly life.
We encourage you to feel free to post anything related to Islam. We will not be aiming to focus on matters of news and politics; the goal is to have productive discussions about the only lives you can impact positively: your own and the community around you. We’d like you to use the forum to highlight the beauty, practicality, and depth of Islam, both in terms of what you know and practice, and also in terms of what you are learning and hoping to implement in the near (or distant) future.
We encourage you to think twice before attempting to use the forum as a “hook-up” site, whether one is attempting to get close to someone of the opposite or same gender. We firmly believe that your parents, spouse, or guardians should know who your real friends are, and getting personal with each other will not be tolerated in any way, shape, or form. It is way too easy to lose your privacy and integrity through online “relationships,” and we don’t want this forum to be the place where such a thing would happen. Don’t even try anything like, “MashAllah, sister101, what’s your email address?” or the like. Remember your intentions, and do not waste your time and energy (or ours) in futile matters.
We encourage you, each and every one of you, to let us know of changes you’d like to see us implement to make the forum a better place. Be creative, be thoughtful, and above all, be obedient to Allah and post in a way that, inshaAllah, will make Rasulullaah Sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam proud to know you’re a part of his blessed Ummah.
Make du’aa that the Imaam makes an appearance on S4S every now and then. Due to his hectic Ramadan schedule, he’ll be pressed for time. However, we’ve been told that you should be able to spot him on campus during the following semester, so don’t hesitate to greet him with salaams when you are lucky enough to have an Imaam sighting. May Allah increase his knowledge, and may he always be of benefit to you and himself, ameen.
JazakumAllah khairun. May the blessings of Allah shower upon you this blessed Ramadan and beyond, ameen.
Wassalaam,
Shabab 4 Sawab team
PS: This place, like IIA, will not be a place of fitna, slander, and back-biting. All offenders will escorted out at the first offense, no questions asked.
