Q. a friend asked me why do musilms not always shave. We born without facial hair. And its natural to not have hair on the face…..

A. We are all born without teeth, so is this friend going to be break all his/her teeth to have a more ‘natural’ look?

Muslim men and woman do shave. However, they shave in places that your friend may refrain from shaving, thus the naive question. Muslims shave in areas that keeps their bodies clean, and helps in maintaining a superior level of hygiene.

Certain things are part of the fitrah (nature) of humans and the prophetic counsel (hadith). As faithfully as possible, we are called upon to uphold the message of sunnah.

Select your friends wisely. Chose friends that defend your faith. Avoid people that demean your belief in Allah (Subhanahu Wata’Ala) and the sanctioned Sunnah of the prophetic counsel.
