Q: I do auctions. Sometimes im told there are 250 chairs (tables, etc)  take em all for 2500 Euros.  When i do a count there is 275 chairs.  Am i liable for the extra 25 and do i have to pay for them?

A: Yes, you would be liable for the extra 25 chairs and you would have to pay the amount due to the auction. Should the seller forgive the extra amount, that is only as a mercy from their side.

Likewise, if there were less than 250 chairs, you would be able to deduct the amount and not pay 2500 euros. You would adjust to the new lower price. For example, if there are only 200 chairs, you would just pay 2000 euros.
