Q: I buy sheep, cow and goat and chicken. I keep them in a big cage or barn area. it is 10feet by 15 feet barn like area. I am told this is haram and I cannot cage animal. Is this meat haram? Jazakallah

A: The the case of the above mentioned animals, caging them or placing them in a barn and not being cruel to them is permissible.  One should not keep these animals for mere entertainment, rather they should be kept with a purpose of taking benefit from them.

In keeping such animals, do not separate them unless for their safety, feed them according to their diet and the amount they require, show affection to them to the extent necessary. That which gives you benefit must be appreciated and taken care off.

Allah Certainly Knows Best.
