Q: asalamalaykum, there is a new masjid in our community.  4 miles apart. One was built 50 years ago. The old officials could not get along with new ones and ther was always fighting. Things got so bad that new musjid was opened old musjid officials got a fatwa saying that giving money to the new musjid is haram because they opened their doors on grounds of conflict and giving money is haram. Things also got so bad I stopped going to musjid because both sides wanted me to go only to them. Woud giving money be haram to the new musjid? which one do i give to? (email)

• Don’t get involved beyond that which is necessary with either Musjid.
• Go and perform salah in the one that is closest to you, when near the other one, go there as well.
• Assist both musjids in doing good work.
• Donate to both regarding their halal and good needs.
