Q: Asalamu alaykum shaykh, I heard in a lecture that Islam was always the same from prophet Adam to Muhammad(Saw), But the only difference was the Hukm. The shaykh said that as an example, “Whenever the Ummah Of Muhammad would get nijaas anywhere on their body, We simply wash it off, But the people of the past used to ‘Chop Off’ anywhere that nijaas touched theyre body, and they couldnt offer salaat anywhere except for a church, temple…etc

Is there any daleel for these statements?

A: ?????? ?????? ????? ???? ???????

All prophets came with the overall same ‘message,’ however, each shared a different set of information depending on the needs of people regarding that special ‘message.’ Thus, the hukm (laws) varied depending on the needs and temperament of the people as it releats to the special ‘message.’

All prophets informed their members to believe in one Creator and to accept the caller of the given message as the prophet (or prophets) of the moment. In the sharing of this given message all the prophets (peace be upon them all) were the same.

Regarding Islam, Allah (SWT) perfected every act of worship and made Islam the religion of ideal choice for people of faith. Had prophets been sent down while Mohammad (peace be upon him) was alive, they too would have followed him (paraphrased from hadith.)

The prophet (SAW) has mentioned: I have been granted five things which were not granted to any other prophet before me: (amongst them,) ‘the entire earth has been made a Musjid (place of worship) and pure for me…’

Allah Certainly Knows Best
