Q: I am planning a trip to the middle east and would like to learn more about Islam.  My main objective is to learn the facts about Islam and not what is perpetuated in the media.  Do you have suggestions for good resources or someone I could correspond with to learn more?

As for myself, treat others as you would like to be treated. This would reduce half your anxiety. Middle Easterners, Africans, etc are humans like others. They share the similar likes and dislikes:  emotions like all, love their children,  love family, dislike rudeness, share similar passions, foods, etc. Yes, from the outside it all may look different.  Bottom-line, each of us are not as different in our basic needs. We all wanted to be treated with appreciation, love and respect.
