A couple hours to go…

Q. If a women is fasting and there are a couple of hours or less left until she break her fast and all of a sudden she gets her menstrual cycle, will she have to break her fast or keep it?
Q. On the last day of Ramadan my menses came. It was 35 minutes before sunset time. Does keeping most of the fast still make me keep that fast? salah?

Answer: In both the above cases, the fast would be considered automatically broken. However, a woman would continue to resemble a fasting person in her actions, i.e. food and medications can now be taken, but in a manner that is not obvious to other fasting persons.

Her fast would have to be repeated, but not her salaah.

Allah certainly knows best.
