Q: my husband said talaq three times and inssits he meant a fresh new talaq each time for completing the marriage. We have kids. One local imam is saying it counts as one if he was angry and we are still married because of the best interest of the kids. they are ages (X, X and X) Only if he said talaq again would they go through. Now shaytan is telling us we are not fully divorced because of this imam. What is your take?

A: Noting that each talaq was a fresh new talaq, we view this marriage as notwithstanding. Kindly have your Imaam call us or email us the basis of his response. (We hope and pray that the Imaam is not shaytan or playing the role of shaytan.)
