Question:
I have a friend in a relationship with a guy she met on the internet. She never met him in person but has been talking to him for a while now, I tried to advise her to stop but she was never convinced. Now it reached to a point of her sending him revealing pictures of herself! I want to convince her to stop before things get worse or someone from her family finds out, what should I say?

Answer: Your friend is making herself very vulnerable. Third parties could pick up these graphic details and aid in a breach of her privacy. Her ‘male friend’ could blackmail her or post her details if she does not comply to all his delinquent requests. Such has occurred in previous situations similar to the one you have outlined. She must understand the reality of these basic occurrences.
Convince her to evaluate her situation and request her to use intellect rather than love-based emotions and desperation to be with a man. Teach her the value of respecting her body and self so others can give her the respect every human deserves. Ask her to request help from her parents if marriage is what she is seeking. Be a friend to her and continually assist her in making good choices, more so if your faith is not going to be adversely affected by being in her company.
