Q. My brother-in-law takes me  like his sister. He insists that it is ok because we are family and also I cannot be married to him I am allowed to be friends? Am I wrong to not talk to him 4 no reason? I want to do the right thing. (personal email box)

A. Tell your brother-in-law to leave his personal sharia in exchange of the sharia of Allah (Subhanahu Wata’Ala) and His Messenger.

You are doing the right thing by distancing yourself from his deviant notions of religion. Keep up the good work. It’s never easy to do the right thing. You have chosen well.

p.s. what kind of sister do you have that allows her husband to talk to other woman! More so, her sisters. Does she not respect the institution of personal family and marriage?
