its not about the BRUSH as much as it is the sunnah

Q. why did you answer that the tooth brush is not the same as the miswaak. I was told that they both accomplish the same outcome. It’saboutcleantheeth

A.The reward for both can never be the same, had it been the same, Rasulullah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) would have allowed us to use teeth power, string (modern word is floss) rough fabric, etc. These items were also available at the time of Rasulullah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam). However, the word ‘siwaak’ was used for a reason.

Thus, the tooth brush would never be a passable replacement for the siwaak. Until the siwaak remains, it’s substitute would never attain its equivalent in reward. Should one forget the siwaak at the time of wuzdh, etc. then one can use a toothbrush, but the reward level would differ.  It is not about tooth brush versus siwaak as much as it is following the sunnah.

Allah Certainly Knows Best.
