Q: Can we go in milad-ul-nabi while we are in our mounthly periods

Time: July 6, 2014 at 5:10 AM

A: Such events are not established as part of sunnah. They are a mockery of what our Rasulool (SAW) stood for. These events generally function as social events that contradict the life style of our Rasool (SAW.)

It would be more rewarding if you sent salutations from the privacy of your home. Your reward would be manifold: one for not attending a social event that makes a mockery of religion. Sitting in the privacy of your home and remembering the prophet (SAW) as he (SAW) would want you to remember him (SAW) would attain you the Dua of Rasool (SAW) and bring added barakah to your life and household. Doing it privately would create greater softness of the heart (as sending salutation does for people).

You will notice, when people attend these events, they are filled with gossip, playing makeup and dress-up, eating and wasting food beyond the necessary, etc.

Following the sunnah would gain you more closeness to Rasool (SAW) than merely sending salutations and living a life that contradicts His (SAW) lifestyle choice. Committing a sin under the guise of religion is far greater then committing a sin that does not done in  the name of Allah (SWT) and Rasool (SAW)

A person can send salutation while on their menstrual cycle.

Allah Certainly Knows Best.
