Q: Is it permissible to wear a  Ralph Lauren jacket and pray?  It has a silhouette of a man on a horse but has no eyes. Regardless of  this, can I still wear it whilst in prayer as it does keep me warm and is a nice jacket. The silhouette is small and located on the top right breast side of the jacket.

A: Clothing, jewelry etc. are items  that describe and express who we are. We must wear that set of clothing which expresses our values to those around us. We must present to all faiths the best of our  sacred values. Although there is nothing wrong with wearing that little ‘horsey’, if one can find a substitute brand that better represents your values, that would prove better. If one cannot find a substitute, there will be no harm in wearing it.
