Q: Imaam, can woman sprinkle water trice on her head for a fard bath and thereafter wash the rest of her body? In our musjid there is a difference of opinion and I need some clarification. Ahsanal jazaa (text)

A: In order for a woman to have her fard bath completed as per religious injunctions, she needs to ensure that water would reach the roots of her hair. Thus, mere sprinkling would remain insufficient for her fard bath to be viewed as complete.

Additionally, she need not open her hair for the fard bath to be completed, her braids can remain unopened, however, water must touch the roots of her hair. This would be necessary.
