Q: whenever I read a sajdah ayah o make sujdah. I have been making them of the quran kareem. I was stopped by a brother. Who is right? (text November 01 – 2011)

A: One cannot do sujdah (prostrations) on the quran. Such sujdahs remain invalid. All such sujdahs must be repeated.
