Q: I was umployed for a year. I got a job in the transportation. Sometimes I am told to transport alcohol to restaurants, clubs. Based on your Tafseer, yo seem to say that drinking it is haram which I agree but transporation too? Is this correct? What is my solution if I have no other job and have a family to feed? (email)

A: I appreciate that you are seeking clarity regarding this matter. May Allah (SWT) make matters easy for all that are undergoing difficulty.

From the Hadith we learn, not only the one that is part of the alcohol extraction is part of sin, so is the one that is transporting the alcohol. Based on this prohibition, it would be a sin for you to transport without looking for an alternative occupation.

Ask Allah (SWT) for forgiveness, seek a permissible alternative(s) and your doors towards a respectable halal earning would insha-Allah open.
