‘it would be more sacred to not fight’

Q:We hadve interfiath where we at. One brother gave out zamzam pani to nonmuslims. A fight broke in which a person said this is holy water only for muslims and is sacred water. Is it forbidden for nonmuslims to drink it?

A: The kuffar of Makkah used to drink this water. There was no prohibition for them to drink it. Munafiqs drank from it, there was neither a prohibition upon them.

However, just as it is not forbidden to share it with nonmuslims and muslims alike, one should try and give it to those that have an appreciation for it. It is not drank for entertainment as much as it is drank as part of sunnah in the manner the sunnah calls for it to be drank. Eg. standing while facing Qiblah and making a dua while drinking it.

Allah Certainly Knows Best.
