do not let your past haunt you

Q: I’m a freshman and I’m a hardworking student .. I’m muslim and I’ve made loads of mistakes previously but alhamdulilah I am repenting now and alhamdulilah I quit doing all the bad things … so I study well for the exams but when I get a bad grade I think that maybe Allah is mad upon me and didn’t forgive… Could that be right??

A: Do not let shaytan toy with your mind. Seek forgiveness for wrongs committed.  If you wronged a person, ask that person for forgiveness. If you owe something to Allah (SWT) — Qadha salah, zakat, hajj etc. merely perform it or do a make up for it. If you owe people money, lied about someone, etc., — pay back, ask for forgiveness, etc.

Sometimes shaytan provokes us due to our past, do not let shaytan or those that wish to haunt you with your past negatives hold you back from your progress. Allah (SWT) is not necessarily mad at you, Shaytan may be mad that Allah (SWT) forgave you, ameen.

Additionally, try to pray more in a group form (jamat.) Be around a more positive group of friends. May Allah (SWT) keep you safe, ameen

Allah Certainly Knows Best.
